Service Description

Our BASICS course focuses on the core principles of improv and creates a playful and judgment-free environment for you to try, play, laugh, fail & learn. You’ll meet a group of like-minded people to bond with and grow with. Over time, you’ll become more comfortable with one another —and with the stage— and your teammates & trainer will become your biggest cheerleaders. You'll also... ✨ Adopt a “Yes-and!” mindset 🏜️ Unleash your imagination and your creativity 🏄🏾‍♀️ Embrace presence, connection and trust 🎭 Learn key acting & public speaking techniques This 12-week course runs from Tuesday 13 January 2026 to Tuesday 31 March 2026, with a showcase on 31 March. _______________________________________________ ❓Should you START the BASICS? YES if… 🎈You want two hours each week to play, let loose, and push the edges of your comfort zone. 🤝 You’re excited to meet new people and experience the magic of connection that comes from improvising together. _______________________________________________ ❓ Have you already completed a BASICS course and you're wondering if you should you do it again? YES if… 🔥 Your enthusiasm is high, you’re still feeling challenged, and the games remain fresh. 🎯 You’re building confidence but see room to grow—you need more practice nailing “yes-and,” supporting your scene partners, and truly listening. 🎉 You genuinely want fun and play, and you’re not yet looking for detailed notes or feedback. 🎬 YOUR TRAINER Meet Trista Mrema (she/her) — half Kenyan, half Tanzanian, which, according to her, saves her from being all-American. Her current present lives include being an improviser for 14 years, an energetic emcee for stand-up shows, storytelling nights, Art Battles, a top improv and stand-up trainer, an on-camera actor and presenter, a role player for corporate trainings, a recovering people pleaser, a social media-dodger, a professional laugher. Her former past lives include an interactive TV producer for a cable company in Amsterdam, a coordinator in Washington D.C. post-production houses, a film and video grad in D.C., a missile systems engineer in Boston, an electrical engineer grad in LA.
