We are SPARK, a community of improvisers based in Rotterdam, NL. We run shows, teach classes, make spontaneous art and spread joy like peanut butter on a broodje 🪄

WE ARE improvisers

Put us on the spot; we love it. Improvisation is an ephemeral and spontaneous performing art form where players embody situations, characters and stories on stage without script. Improvisation is a powerful medium of self-expression, creativity, and collective thinking. It is truly an art form for our current times: with acceptance, trust and support at its core, improv allows us to (re)connect with ourselves and others.

SPARK started as a small passion project in September 2022. It has since grown into a gang of organizers, trainers, volunteers, students and curious minds.

Because we think the core values improvisation can radically improve how we live and how we mark art, we operate with a code of conduct that encompasses our intentions and how we want to host our spaces.
