Service Description
This 12-week course runs from Wednesday 15 April 2026 to Wednesday 01 July 2026, with a showcase on Thursday 25th of June. This term we're doing something a little different, offering a THREE-FOR-ONE course. A proefplank of improv if you may. One course, three blocks, three experts, to fill up your long form backpack with a wide range of tools, techniques & inspirations. Weeks 1-4: Object Work & Made-up Worlds with Sam Get into the joy (and struggles) of miming and make-believe, to create more believable and tangible worlds through object work & environment. Week 5-8 : Character Creation with Erica You may feel stuck with a couple of recurring characters in your repertoire, 'been-there-played-that' protagonists that feel safe but not really exciting. For four weeks, you'll explore new & unusual ways to create characters, from voice modulation to using animal spines. Weeks 9-12 : Group Magic, Mayhem & Mischief with Tanine Group scenes are fun, chaotic and sometimes magical - but we often avoid them because we dread falling into the "what the fuck is going on" zone. The last 4 weeks of the course will be all about big group energy, how to play with the collective mind and create focused moments within the ensemble.
