Service Description
🎬 WHAT IS THE BOOTCAMP? This 12-week course runs from Wednesday 14 January 2026 to Wednesday 01 April 2026, with a showcase on 26th of March. In this course, you’ll work on key improv skills, create entertaining stories and interesting characters, and explore narrative structures and improv formats. Each term, you’ll practice a new different format, leading up to a show. You’ll learn the language, technique and skills of improvising a full-length piece. The BOOTCAMP is more brainy, more nerdy, mixing play and theory🌟 ______________________________________ 🎭 THIS TERM’S FORMAT: The Monoscene with Gizem Erbas The monoscene is a fully improvised one-act play. A single story, in a single location, unfolding in real time. This classic improv format, with no fancy edits, no unexpected time jumps & no characters switcheroo is the perfect playing fields to work on key skills of theatrical improv: • bringing to life fully-fleshed characters with quirks, desires & quests ; • creating rich & detailed environments ; • exploring scene dynamics, taking and giving focus ; • writing live a coherent story that the audience cares to watch on stage. ______________________________________ ❓ Should you take the BOOTCAMP? YES, if... ✅ You’ve spent a year (3 trimesters) or more in the WORKOUT (or you’ve completed the FULL curriculum at another school) 🎭 You loved the thrill of the stage and want to play in front of more than just your friends 🔍 You’re curious about improv theory, discovering different formats, spotting the patterns underneath your favorite performances 📝 You’re hungry for notes 🤝 You’re ready to listen, support, commit and take risks 💬 Not sure if it’s for you? Message us! We’re happy to help out. ______________________________________ 🎓 YOUR TRAINER Gizem Erbas, a.k.a. Giz, started her acting career when she was 6, just to wear the princess costume. After years of doing scripted theater, she discovered the magical unscripted universe of improv in 2013. Since then, she lives everyday like she is on stage, ready to “YES, AND” every suggestion. You’ll find her illuminating the stage at any ImproNation shows, while spreading the joy of improv through courses and workshops. Her mission? To ensure that every soul in this universe experiences the sheer delight of hearty laughter.
