We are living in unprecedented times. The global climate and ecological crises shape every aspect of our lives—the choices we make, how we live, the futures we envision, the relationships we invest in, and the emotions we navigate: rage, anxiety, helplessness, courage, hope, and grief.

Can we bring these crises with us on stage? We often feel unqualified—lacking legitimacy, expertise, or scientific rigor—to weave the climate crisis into our improvised worlds. We may wonder if it’s our role or feel we must first form a fully fleshed-out opinion.

Improvisers have the unique ability to tell the stories of our time, break free from hopelessness, and imagine alternative, desirable futures.
